The Day After Tomorrow
This is one of those big budget disaster movies that comes off very well. Weather expert Dennis Quaid and doctor Sela Ward are the parents of student Jake Gyllenhaal who gets stranded in NYC when there is a dramatic climate change that few predicted and nobody else believed. Of course it is up to Dennis to resuce Jake and his student friends from the subzero disaster. All give solid performances and Jake is particularly good as the student everyone counts out to help them survive until they are rescued. Some of the specials effects don't work real well for me but mostly they are awesome. The movie was a good ebay find and, like other ebay movie purchases, arrived quickly and in good condition. It was worth the hunt.

Bubble Boy
I enjoyed the movie, Bubble Boy, as a piece of fun entertainment. The movie is at times silly and the whole premise is rather implausible, but I think that is part of what makes it fun to watch. Jake Gyllenhaal is a boy that has to grow up in a bubble because of his lack of immunities. When the girl next door goes off to get married the Bubble Boy, now a young man, goes off to find her and confess his love. He builds a portable bubble and takes off. The whole series of adventures for someone out in the world for the first times is rather crazy but good entertainment. I liked recent movies with Jake Gyllenhaal and decided to look for some of his earlier movies that might be hard to find. After searching his name on ebay I found this movie, along with a couple of others, and was able to get it at a good price. It arrived quickly, was in excellent condition and was a lot of fun to watch. This particular title would certainly be hard to find new or used and has been out so long that most video stores would not have it. This movie is very different from any thing recent with Mr. Gyllenhaal and good G rated entertainment. It was a great find and the price, even considering shipping costs, was excellent for a previously viewed movie.

Christmas Every Day
This is last year's version of the album and you can find You Tube videos in support of some of these entries. David has written three of the songs. In addition to the thoughtful Winter In The Air title track, the set opens with the lively Christmas Every Day. He has added a new Christian themed song as well to go with traditonal carols and Christmas favorites. The Deluxe edition out this year has the same twelve songs, plus three additional tunes. It is worth it and a good job by David, nice arrangements too.
