I am fascinated by the ability of an object such as a photograph or piece of ephemera to transport oneself to the perspective of what it may have been like to be someone from a time long past. Especially those objects of everyday existence; a receipt, a trade card, a travel guide pamphlet, a postcard received from a friend. These everyday objects are perhaps more relatable than a rare antiquarian object, and therefore have greater power to shift our perspective to common individual in the past. I hope you can enjoy the transformative essence imbued in these objects by all of the hands that held them before you!
