The Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III digital SLR camera can be a powerful EOS-1 device for serious photographers. The 21.1 megapixel full frame CMOS sensor and dual DIGIC III Image Processors can deliver high image quality at lightning speed. The 45 point AF system can make this Canon EOS device versatile for precise photo compositions. It has a vast array of compatible Canon EF lenses. With durable body and shutter design, the EOS-1Ds device can handle rough use. Wireless remote capabilities and an integrated cleaning system make this a high end digital camera. The sensor recording area of the Canon EOS-1D Mark III is 36 by 24mm. It is the same frame size as the 35mm film format. The high pixel count on this large area can create stunning results. The ISO range is 100 to 1600, but it can be expanded from 50 to 3200. The CMOS sensor technology ensures low noise level in high ISO settings to avoid grainy pictures. From the CMOS, the image is passed through a 14 bit analog to digital converter. The A/D converter records 16,384 distinct brightness levels, giving the photos sharper contrast. It also generates large image data. This data is handled using the powerful Dual DIGIC III Image Processors capable of parallel processing. The processors also contribute to noise reduction to improve image quality. With the Canon AF technology, the Canon 1Ds Mark III DSLR cameras provide advanced autofocus. The 45 point AF system on this Canon EOS device gives continuous coverage of a large focus area. Besides the automatic mode, users can use the 19 cross type AF points with additional 26 assist points for manual focus. Even at 5 fps, the automatic AF system can keep track of the subject. For custom flash output, Canon's E-TTL II flash metering system monitors light conditions. The 1Ds camera also features the 63 zone metering system. The combination of the AF system and the flash monitoring gives you a precisely focused and welllighted image. The Canon 1Ds Mark III has a durable and water resistant camera body. You can take it for a shoot in the most challenging environment. It runs on long lasting lithium-ion battery. These cameras support the fast Ultra Direct Memory Access CF memory cards, so you can store your images faster. Any type of lens kit in the Canon EF family is compatible, so you have a great selection to choose from. The camera features a 3.0 LCD screen and a viewfinder. Live View Function shows image output in real time. You can use either the viewfinder or the LCD screen to set aperture, AF focus points, shutter speed, battery check, etc. The wireless file transmitter WFT-E2A can be set up with your wireless LAN. It saves you the trouble of carrying cables. With Canon EOS Utility Software and WFT-E2A firmware, you can remotely control the camera from your computer in real time. It makes complicated image composition easier to handle. The EOS Integrated Cleaning System can self monitor and remove dust from low pass filter using ultrasonic vibrations.
