I am a small animal veterinarian who adopts super special needs pets. Right now our collection includes 2 cats with hydrocephalus (Adelaide and Louise) , a Maine Coon with pulmonic stenosis (Maurice), a 4 year old poodle with a broken back (Esther), a 19 year old bichon in a wheel-chair (Sophia), and an 18 year old shih tzu in heart failure (Louie) - amongst others with minor health issues (In total 8 cats, 6 dogs, 2 mice, and 1 hamster)
These pets were adopted with full knowledge of their conditions. We give them a second chance at life and all are thriving in their environment.
The funds from everything we sell goes to subsidize their care. While I can do most things at cost, there are procedures that need to be done by specialists - we average 1 MRI a year and 2-3 ultrasounds. These imagings alone can run 2-3k a year. Our medications cost between 7 and 10 dollars a day - and that is at cost!!!
Thank you for your support. These "throw away" pets still have love to give!
