  This is a very accurate and inexpensive instrument. The problem is that outside of a lab, it doesn't function properly. I've tried two of these in with my 2005 Suzuki DF90 outboard motor. They work fine below 4k rpm - very accurate. But above 4K, they loose signal and begin to act screwy. I replaced them with a USA made instrument and have no problem. I would not recommend this unit for my application.

  This thing works really well but set up the tachometer is a bit ify! it has a setting of from 1 .1 threw 9.9 and I just can't comprehend what the .1 threw .9 would be for on setting the tachometer for the number of cylinders should be 1 or 4 or 6 or 8 or 10 but not any .2 or what ever that is!
