  I read his book not long afer it was published, perhaps early sixties. Some passages have been running through my mind for years, and it was rime to read it again. Brilliantly written and translated. It's a "grim" book, (what else would you expect?! from the title and introductory pages, but you won't regret reading it. Personal note: in the late 1960's I worked at a facility near Cincinnati that manufactured such as these things 20 years earlier. I was part of the closure / decom team.
