Every feature of these devices makes communicating clearly and effectively easy and convenient in any number of stressful situations. The most noteworthy features include auto scan, eVOX one-level voice activation, a microphone and headphone jack, and auto squelch. Enjoy the peace of mind provided by the keystroke tones and keypad lock, which ensure that only what you want to broadcast goes onto the radio waves. Water resistant and compact, these two-way GMRS radios come with detachable belt clips and fit in the palm of your hand, making it easy to communicate in various weather and outdoor conditions. The dimensions for these two-way radios measure 2.01 inches by 5.53 inches by 1.21 inches. These radios have the longest range of communication in open places that have little to no obstruction. The channel scan on the Midland LXT118 two-way device is designed to automatically check the channels for any activity. The auto-squelch feature helps to remove any excess background noise or feedback while you're communicating with the party on the other radio. These two-way radios are designed to operate across 22 frs/gmrs channels. The Midland GMRS two-way radio is also available as a part of value pack that includes all the important accessories. Some of the accessories that work with the pair of radios include rechargeable batteries and a charger. In a pinch, three standard AAA batteries can also power the LXT118. The device features a battery meter and low battery alert so that you know when it's time to recharge. This pair of radios also comes equipped with jacks for a mic and headphones. Other accessories included with the two GMRS radios are the owner manual and belt clips. When you're using radio electronics, you want the range to be reliable and extensive. The range for the Midland GMRS two-way radio is approximately 1 mile in more congested urban areas. If you enjoy camping, hunting, hiking, or spelunking with friends or family, these are electronics you’ll want to bring along on your trips. You may also appreciate that this device is designed to operate silently, but pressing buttons can still provide an audible beep. The devices are also RoHS compliant, meaning they are free of lead. The antenna is fixed into position, and the device features a signal strength indicator as well. The call alert function is another feature equipped on this device for your convenience. It's important to remember that range is maximized over open water or open spaces like rural areas. The run time for these devices is approximately five hours.
