I recommend cleaning the tape, as they can get covered with dust or mold. Age and magnetic degradation is also a risk with a discontinued format like VHS. I believe the packaging was sufficient due to the packing paper it was wrapped in, along with the styrofoam. Unfortunately, the stated return policy stands. This is also not the place to ask for a return, and I think the description was accurate and the discount generous.
