One thing left out of the original listing is that it supports PWDIS, so using it without an adapter and the wrong PSU will cause it to not spin up, booted from a SATA port. I only discovered this after first using USB adapter and then troubleshooting. Most NAS devices do not use the PWDIS. If you need to use it in a device where it will not spin up, you can bypass this by covering the third pin on the SATA power connector with electrical tape or solder mask. Once you do that, it should work in all computers and adapters.
