The material feels smooth and slightly cool to the touch even without refrigeration, and both of my pets took to it right away. It’s lightweight, easy to clean, and fits well in their bed or crate. My dog especially loves laying on it after our morning walks. I noticed he pants less and seems more relaxed. My cat uses it more at night, so it definitely help
