Two sectors near the end had issues, but that was formatted blank space so no impact. The CD itself wasn't bootable (I believe because this was retail, not OEM), so the floppy disk was crucial. I was originally getting SU0013 errors from the install process (noting that I had copied the contents of the CD onto a second hard disk), but after using fdisk to delete and recreate the C drive, then running format (not /s) from the D drive - it worked!
