    If you enjoy the sport of shooting, then you can reload your ammo with the 7.62 by 39 full-length die set. A die set is one of those crucial accessories needed for reloading, and this die set does the job. If your gun of choice is an AK-47, the RCBS 7.62 by 39 full-length die set for .308/.311-caliber bullets is ideal. This die set is also ideal for the SKS rifle. This die set contains two dies. One is a full-length sizer with an expander and a decapping unit. The other is a seater die with a bullet seater for .308/.311-caliber bullets. It also comes with a built-in crimper for either a roll or taper crimp. Both die accessories are made from hardened steel. They are precision drilled to make the interior surfaces smooth and free from blemishes. When you load using these dies, your 7.62 by 39 cartridges will meet the minimum required dimensions. These dimensions are stipulated by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer’s Institute (SAAMI). The advantage of a full-length die is that it brings the entire cartridge back to factory specs. It does size the neck, but it also bumps the shoulder and adjusts the body as needed. This gives you the most accurate bullet that chambers reliably. Bullets that have been resized with a full-length die can be used in any gun that is the appropriate caliber. The 7.62 by 39 ammo has a bottleneck style of casing. For reloading, you can use either brass or steel casings. The casings can be from your own rifle or purchased on the secondary market. For the first pass through your press, you will use the sizer die. This one clears out the used primer and sizes the casing. It also slightly opens up the top so it can accept a new bullet. The seater die is used for the cartridge’s second trip through the press. During this step the bullet is seated and, if you choose, the built-in crimper will crimp the neck. If you prefer, you can adjust the die so that it skips the crimping step. The 7.62 by 39 dies are vented to prevent damage during the reloading process. Both trapped air and excess lubricant can deform the cartridge if they are not allowed to escape. It is essential that the cases be lubricated or they can get stuck in the press. Only a light coating is needed, and the die accessories are simple to use and can be easily adjusted by means of large hex lock rings. RCBS engineered the 7.62 x39 full-length die set for durability and precision. They are case hardened and polished by hand to enable them to bear up under heavy use. Loading your own ammunition saves money and allows you to customize the bullets that you use.
