Revolutionary audio reproduction is a quality that drives consumers toward the LSi9 stereo speakers. These Polk bookshelf speakers boast a 180-watt peak power handling capacity. The attractive real wood veneer makes it look great with existing decor, and the solid MDF construction with internal bracings reduces resonance for a cleaner sound. This center channel speaker includes the special Dynamic Balance drivers that provide exceptional performance for both stereo and home theater applications. Two 5.25-inch woofers coupled with a 1-inch silk polymer dome tweeter perform in tandem to bring together stunning audio effects to complement the home theater experience. This 65 Hz to 26 kHz frequency response speaker system is video shielded so that it will not interfere with television reception. The 89 dB sensitivity rating means that listening to audio even at high volume remains free of distortions.You'll need the support of a strong amp or receiver to drive the LSi9. They can take nearly 200 watts, and the closer you can get to that top end, the better they will sound. It comes down to realizing the potential of what the electronics can do. You'll be able to fill a large room with clear, powerful audio and do it without a sweat if you have a strong enough signal. The soundstage is excellent even at higher volumes, especially when it comes to the panning of left and right directional sound cues. You'll truly feel that the sound sources are standing around you.The sonic profile of the LSi9 is like many other Polk speakers. They are clear with especially strong mids.
