"Dynasty Warriors 8" is a retelling of the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms," but with a few new twists. Players will choose a faction and then lead that squad to victory. Each of these factions has a Story mode for the player to work through. Throughout this mode, you'll learn the motivation of each faction and guide them to victory. A new addition to this series is that the powerful Lu Bu now has a Story mode. Players can take this beloved character on a quest to secure China. "Dynasty Warriors 8" for the PlayStation 4 was developed by Omega Force. The game was published by Tecmo Koei and had a release date of 2014 in the United States.The gameplay of "Dynasty Warriors 8" is similar to past games in the franchise on the PS3. Each level in this PS4 game is a massive battlefield. As you ride into action, you'll fight against waves of enemies while attempting to capture objectives. This PS4 game can show over 100 soldiers on the field at one time with no slowdown. Among these troops are enemy generals. Defeat these generals to advance your own armies. Throughout the course of a game, your objectives could change suddenly. For example, the emergence of a powerful foe could alter your goals. Gamers will need to keep a close eye on the battlefield and react to sudden changes quickly.The "Dynasty Warriors" series of games has always been known for its large cast of playable characters. There are over 80 characters featured in this PS4 game. Every character from past games on the 3DS and PlayStation 3 is available for users to play as. Each character has their own unique fighting style, and no two characters in this PS4 title play the same. Some warriors rely on swords, while others may use spears. Some fighters have outlandish weapons, such as fans or even spell books. Each character has their own combos they can use to juggle enemies in the air and deal immense damage. Like past games, a super meter builds as you fight against opponents. When this bar is full, you can unleash an attack which will decimate everything on the screen. "Dynasty Warriors 8" also uses the upgrade system seen in previous PlayStation games. Vanquished foes in this PlayStation title drop new weapons and items. These objects will help power up your combatant, letting him successfully battle enemies with ease. You can even find animals to ride on, which makes it easy to traverse the battlefield quickly. The Complete Edition includes the "Xtreme Legends" DLC pack. "Xtreme Legends" adds new modes, new fighters, and new maps. Every returning fighter in "Xtreme Legends" also gains new attack combos along with new weapons. The Complete Edition lets gamers choose the title they want to play from the main menu. The PlayStation 4 version also features updated graphics and new weather effects. This title is packed full of content, and it will take the average gamer over 100 hours to unlock everything this game has to offer. "Xtreme Legends" was given a rating of T for teen by the ESRB. This rating is due to the violence and alcohol found within the gameplay.
