The Sun Microsystems 320-1366 Wired Keyboard is designed for comfort and simplicity of use. A full-size keyboard, it is packed with useful features, including Solaris Operating System shortcut keys. It is compatible with PCs that have universal serial bus, or USB, ports. Whether or not those PCs are Sun computers, it will work. The keyboard's 6 1/2-foot-long cable is suitable for ATX and microATX towers, which often reside some distance away. Multi-language support is also included. It has multiple USB hubs too, allowing you to plug a flash drive, mouse, or other hardware into it. This accessory is in the Sun Type 7 product line. Model 320-1366, the standard device has a #320-1366 MPN. Its localization is U.S., and key lettering is in English. Its three USB receptacles are in four-pin USB Type/Series A style. Two of the receptacles are along its back. Its third one, which is a reversed Type/Series A receptacle, is on its underside. The lead-free device is RoHS-6-compliant. The board elements are arranged in groups, with letter and number keys filling most of the midsection group. Control and Caps Lock are on the midsection's lower left side. The top row's shortcut functions are labeled F1 through F12. The leftmost group has 11 shortcut functions: Help, Stop, Again, Props, Undo, Front, Copy, Open, Paste, Find, and Cut. Shortcuts save you time by eliminating the need for combination keystrokes.Alt Graph is below the right Shift key. Pressing Alt Graph activates the third function of another pressed key. The nearby Compose is useful during times when you want to add special characters, such as accents, or when typing foreign words. Likewise, you may want to note extra symbols the keyboard doesn't show. Pressing Compose directs software to create such characters from certain keystrokes.The Sun keyboard is designed for comfort. Extending the two fold-out legs on its underside lifts its back. These adjustable-tilt legs allow you to select a typing angle that improves your posture. It also makes sitting for long periods of time easier on your arms and wrists. Like the keyboard, the keys have smooth, rounded corners. The symbols are easy to pick up. The half-moon on the right side's top identifies the Sleep/Suspend key. Pressing it and then selecting Sleep puts the computer in Sleep mode with the keyboard power remaining on. Selecting Suspend makes the computer and keyboard power down but retains configuration settings. The right side's top also has Audio/Display options for adjusting volume and contrast. Featuring Open Look keys, the layout version is U.S., or PC. Some editions have a UNIX layout instead; UNIX is an operating system on which Linux is based. The switch design is a rubber dome with a slider. Weighing 2 pounds, this light-colored Sun accessory measures 19 4/16 inches long and about 6 inches wide. Most keys work in Windows operating systems. Some function options may map to a different function or send the scan code of a different function. To ensure continued performance, clean unplugged keyboards with a soft, clean cloth moistened with water.
